WHAT TO PACK FOR YOUR
Tubing TRIP
On the Water
When on the river, you have got to keep warm and comfortable.
1. Swimsuit
Wear that swimsuit or something you don’t mind getting wet, because the water is warm and fun to splash around!
2. Hat and sunglasses
On sunny days, the sun is very strong overhead and you may want some protection!
3. Sunscreen
Protect your skin! On sunny days, you’re going to need it.
4. Footwear with an ankle strap
Your favorite flip-flops will end up somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean (The Kennebec flows all the way to the coast). We recommend water shoes like Chacos or Tevas.
5. Snacks
The float is between two and three hours long so come prepared to handle the afternoon munchies! The Three Rivers Trading Post, your check-in location, has a plethora of snacks, sandwiches, and more for you to choose from!
6. Drink of choice
Stock a cooler with your favorite bubbly drink for your float trip! Adult beverages are available to anyone 21+.
7. Water
As clean as the Kennebec is, that’s not what you want to drink all day to stay hydrated. You’re going to get thirsty out there so fill up a water bottle beforehand. We sell refillable nalgenes in the gift shop.
8. Bluetooth speaker
Though we can never reccomend this for a hike, you’re only with your friends out here. Bring the tunes to the river! Bluetooth speakers can turn your tubing trip into a float party.
9. An extra tube for your cooler
Don’t forget to add another tube to your reservation for the cooler! Keep the drinks cool and keep your lap free of everyone else’s beverages.
10. Waterproof cases for your phone and other valuables
The Kennebec has swallowed GoPros, phones, and every other valuable electronic, so consider bringing a waterproof case, one that can ideally clip onto the carabiner attached to the tube. There are also dry bags for sale in the gift shop!
