Social Distancing

Yes, “social distancing” and “fun” can belong in the same sentence this summer!

More than ever before, now is the perfect time to put the city in your rearview mirror and explore the great outdoors! Leave the crowded beaches behind you and experience the vast Maine wilderness instead. COVID-19 may have thrown a major wrench into your summer plans, but here at Three Rivers Whitewater, we are well-prepared to offer you every kind of summer fun while still practicing safe social distancing guidelines.

The well-being of our guests is our top priority here at Three Rivers. We are following guidelines set forth by the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife as well as the Maine CDC. Still, the fun doesn’t stop! COVID-19 ain’t got nothing on us at Three Rivers Whitewater.

Here are a number of activities that limit interaction with others but don’t limit fun!

Rafting Rafting

Fresh air and Fun. We’ve been socially distancing on the river since 1997, and we’ve all been sitting inside FAR too much in 2020. Dust off that sense of adventure and take the crew into the outdoors for a much-needed adrenaline rush. Let’s go rafting!

Tubing Tubing

Rally your old quarantine crew for a breath of fresh air on the river. You have all the space in the world as you float down the Lower Kennebec. Breathe in that freedom! Check out our blog!

SUPs and Inflatable Kayaks SUPs and Inflatable Kayaks

Another fun activity that allows social distancing and a great time! Rent your own stand up paddle boards and inflatable kayaks, and spend a peaceful day on the water under the sun.

Hiking Hiking

Nothing healthier than the fresh air around you when you are deep in the Maine forestland. There is no lack of hiking opportunities in The Forks- Moxie Falls, Pleasant Pond Mountain, and the Appalachian Trail, to name a few. We’ve made a list of some of our favorites here.

Moose Spotting Moose Spotting

Take a drive at dusk or dawn and hunt down those mysterious moose! Get lost on dirt roads and use the time to forget the troubles of the real world. Even if you aren’t lucky enough to stumble upon a moose, you will still witness a spectacular sunrise or sunset.

Fishing Fishing

Fishing in The Forks is a great option to get some space this summer. We are primely located for fishing on the Lower Kennebec, Dead River, and numerous fishing lakes. We also offer Guided Fishing Trips.

Camping Camping

Escape to nature for a few nights and camp riverside! Take a dip in the river, have a bonfire, and grill. Old-fashioned fun is still the safest fun!

Stargazing

Stargazing

IMMACULATE night skies make it hard to go to bed around here! Enjoying shooting stars and a stunning view of the Milky Way galaxy every night makes the world fade far away.
