Dead River RAFTING ***Cancelled due to Drought*** General Overview: The Dead River Rafting Trip is the most unique river trip in Maine. We only raft the Dead River 8 times per season. This river trip is known for having the most continuous stretch of whitewater rapids in the East. Your river trip will be run out of our Forks Fun Resort in The Forks, ME. This is the center of a beautiful area, nestled in the heart of Maine’s Kennebec Valley. Your epic day on the river starts just downstream of Grand Falls. Here you will learn your guide’s commands and practice paddling before beginning your adventure. At 16 miles long, this is the longest river trip that we offer. Over the first 14 miles of the trip, there are upwards of 30 rapids. The first rapids are Class II – III and serve as a “warm-up”. As the day goes on, the Dead River’s rapids get bigger and better. Our Registered Maine Guides pride themselves on their knowledge of the many rapids and play spots on the river.
