How long have you worked in the Outdoor Industry?
I first started working in the outdoor industry 14 years ago at Sunday River. I came to Three Rivers Whitewater about 10 years ago and have been here ever since!
What is your origin story working forThree Rivers Whitewater?
I found Three Rivers through friends who work here. I began rafting out in Colorado and eventually followed them to Maine and started rafting the Kennebec River. After a few years I completed guide training!
What do you love most about being a Maine River Guide?
I love being able to spend my summers outside on a river. It’s great to meet so many amazing people and show them how awesome rafting Maine rivers can be!
What is your favorite rapid to guide in Maine?
My favorite rapid to guide in Maine are The Cribworks and Nesowadnehunk Falls onthe Penobscot River in Millinocket. I love these rapids because they are challenging and essentially a whitewater playground!
What is your favorite hike in Maine?
My favorite hike in Maine is Old Speck Mountain Trail in Grafton Notch State Park. This is Maine’s 4th tallest mountain and is a more challenging hike, but that only makes it more fun!
What do you enjoy doing when not working?
When not working I love getting on the river anyway I can! Whether it be rowing, playing in a raft or swimming you can almost always find me on the Kennebec River!
Favorite experience on the river?
My favorite experience on the river has been surfing at Nesowadnehunk Falls on the Penobscot River. But, I also enjoy taking people that are nervous and showing them a good time on the river! It’s great to watch someone go from being scared or nervous to wanting to come back and raft again!
