CABINS AT THREE RIVERS (WEST FORKS, MAINE)

What is more “Maine” than a log cabin? Literally nothing …besides eating lobster and blueberries while watching a moose out the window (which you can totally do). Stay in one of the riverfront log cabins at Kennebec River Outpost, home of Three Rivers.

With six cabins to choose from, there is an option for every party. “Dead”, “Rapid” and “Magalloway” log cabins are one bedroom, one bath cabins that sleep from 4-8 people. The “Penobscot” and “Kennebec” cabins are both two bedrooms with two bathrooms and can sleep 6-10 people. If you’re planning a Group Trip (perfect for large families, bachelorette/bachelor parties etc. you will love the “Seboomook” cabin. With six bedrooms, two full baths, a kitchenette and a fireplace, this cabin the perfect spot to host your next group getaway.

 All Three Rivers cabins have private fire rings, picnic tables, porches, heat/a.c. and are just a few feet away from the river.

BUNK HOUSES AT KENNEBEC RIVER OUTPOST (WEST FORKS, MAINE)

If you’re coming to The Forks, Maine for a more summer camp feel, you’ll want to check out the bunkhouses at the Kennebec River Outpost! The bunkhouses are simple wood structures with a screen door and window. They can sleep up to 8 people on bunk beds with sleeping pads. There are also mini bunkhouses available that sleep 3-4 people on platform beds. Bunkhouses do not include linens to remember to bring sleeping bags and towels!

TENT CAMPING AT KENNEBEC RIVER OUTPOST (WEST FORKS, MAINE)

Let’s go camping! Pack up your tent and sleeping bag and head to North Maine Woods! Choose a campsite in a grassy field (perfect for field games) or one in the pines along the Kennebec River, and set up camp. 

There is a bathroom and shower house in the center of the campground. All campsites have a picnic table and fire rings to gather around. Across the street is the Three Rivers Trading Post store with camping supplies, food and drinks.

INN ROOM AT INN BY THE RIVER (WEST FORKS, MAINE)

For those looking to spend their night entirely out of the elements, we suggest a comfy room at the Inn By The River. There are double, queen, queen & twin, and king rooms available. Most of these rooms also have Whirlpool tubs, private decks, and views of the Kennebec River!

On the first floor there is the Riverside Pub which serves the best breakfast in town! You can also enjoy a delicious lunch and dinner, in the pub or outside on the large deck overlooking the river. Stick around at night for cocktails and nightly bonfires.  

The Inn By The River is located on part of an extensive trail system, popular for snowmobiling and ATVing, connecting the Inn to other local businesses and scenic outlooks. IBR is open year-round.

CARRIAGE HOUSE AT INN BY THE RIVER (WEST FORKS, MAINE)

If you’ve got the whole family with you traveling to The Forks, you’re going to want to check out the Carriage House at the Inn By The River. Located just steps away from the Inn is a two bedroom suite complete with a kitchen and living area. The Carriage House sleeps up to 10.

KENNEBEC RIVERSIDE CABINS (WEST FORKS, MAINE)

On the other side of Route 201, sit the Kennebec Riverside Cabins. They are as close to the river as you can get! They are perfect for watching the rafts and tubes float by and the eagles soar from the private deck. All cabins fully furnished, and have full indoor bathrooms, and a kitchenette with a stove, oven, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, dishware and cookware. There are also TV’s and DVD players in each cabin for rainy days.

WHITEWATER RAFTING OVERNIGHT TRIP (WEST FORKS, MAINE)

This option is often overlooked when searching for places to stay in Maine, but really houses the experience of a lifetime. The adventure begins with a trip north to Moosehead Lake where the first day is spent taking inflatable kayaks (also known as duckies) down the East Outlet. You are then shuttled by boat to our exclusive primitive campsite, where you will have plenty of time to fish, swim, eat dinner and tell stories by the campfire. After a hearty breakfast in the morning, you will head to Harris Station Dam and raft down the mighty Kennebec River.

This class IV adventure is all-included. No need to worry about packing a tent, sleeping pads, or food. We’ve got all of that covered as well as far as river gear, dry bags and transportation. Just pack a sleeping bag and your sense of adventure!
