Family Vacation Package Trip Choices
Kennebec Raft Trip
The Kennebec is a world-class river offering some of the finest whitewater available. It is a trip filled with fun and excitement as you tackle Class IV rapids such as "Whitewasher", "Big Mama" and "Magic Falls". There is plenty of opportunity for you to swim alongside the raft in places such as "Swimmers Rapid". Enjoy the sheer beauty of the Kennebec River Gorge with its granite banks and cascading waterfalls.
A one-day rafting trip on the Kennebec River includes all equipment, wet suits, transportation to and from the river and our famous BBQ lunch with your choice of steak, salmon, chicken or vegetarian option as a main entrée. Side dishes may include homemade mashed potatoes, pasta salad, corn on the cob, stir-fried rice, coleslaw or 4-bean salad. Dinner rolls and homemade deserts complete your meal. All of our trips finish with a top quality, fun filled slide and video presentation of your journey down the river. Photos and videos can be ordered to record your special memories. Minimum age for the full river is 10 & minimum age for Carry Brook down is 6.
Inflatable Kayaking Trip
You are the captain of your own ship as you paddle the Class I, II & III rapids of the Lower Kennebec River in individual, inflatable kayaks. Guides paddle along side you directing you in the best paths through the rapids and teach you the techniques of "surfing a hole". Part way down the river we hike up to Moxie Falls, Maine's tallest waterfall, where we have a snack and drink. Upon returning to our base there is cheese and crackers for you to snack on while we cook our famous BBQ lunch with all the fixings. (The lunch this day may be substituted with a picnic style lunch at Moxie Falls.) Minimum age is 12.
Hiking Trip
We guide you on a hike up Pleasant Pond Mountain. This hike is part of the Appalachian Trail and does have some steep and moderately difficult sections. Upon reaching the summit we have a snack and drink while enjoying the panoramic views of Maine's rugged mountains, lakes and rivers. Returning to our base, there are cheese and crackers for you to snack on while we cook our famous BBQ lunch with all the fixings. (The lunch this day may be substituted with a picnic style lunch. We may also substitute a different hike (i.e. Mosquito Mountain) depending on your group's age and ability.) No age minimum.
Waterfall & Wildlife Safari
We guide you to two of Maine's spectacular waterfalls that are located in areas where sightings of moose, bald eagles and other wildlife are very common. Grand Falls is one of Maine's little secrets. It is a natural horseshoe falls and is only accessible by logging roads. There is a short hike to the falls where we have a picnic lunch. After lunch we travel to Moxie Falls. With a 90 foot vertical drop this is Maine's tallest waterfall. There is an easy 20 minute walk to the falls on a trail maintained by the State of Maine. Make sure you have a camera and plenty of film for this safari into the Maine wilderness. No age minimum.
Lower Kennebec Canoe Trip
Not up for the full whitewater experience? Join us on a quick water & flat water canoe trip on the Kennebec River from the Forks to Wyman Lake. This trip is for people who just want to relax and enjoy beautiful scenery and a day on the water. There is also a good chance of seeing mergansers, eagles, ospreys and other wildlife. On the river you'll enjoy a tasty snack and have one of our homemade meals at the end of your trip. No age minimum.
